Need to Unroot, Forgot Tool Used to Root - Atrix 2 / MB 865

Hi guys, I'm new here, and after digging around here and the xda forums, I can't find the answers I need.

I need to unroot my phone to send it in for warranty repair (The right side of the screen occasionally fails to sense, making the P / 0 keys unusable).
I don't remember which tool I used, but I don't think it was SuperOneClick.

Is there a file or other way to identify which tool was used to that I properly remove evidence that it was rooted?

    cogeary
's batch file from last year (Unroot) stops after successfully starting the
daemon, without ever displaying "Device connected." The phone is connected as a Mass Storage Device in USB Debugging mode, running ICS 4.0.4.

    Any thoughts?

No joy in removing superuser access using the batch file after reinstalling the drivers (trying both 64 and 32-bit). I tried both the standalone driver installer, and the Motorola helper driver from the Motorola website (MotoHelper_2.1.32_Driver_5.4.0).

No joy after an external hardware reset (as opposed to software update viaSettings > Privacy > Factory data reset).

I'm running ICS 4.0.4 (System Version 67.21.125.MB865.ATT.en.US -- Most recent version per Motorola website). I'm not sure if there is any way to tell if this is the OTA update, or if it pushed out during the superuser permissions process.

Either way, still no luck removing root access.

Sorry for the random red text, by the way. I figured it was a good way to handle the tl;dnr that happens when I ramble

    SUCCESS.

Used MotorolaDeviceManager_2.3.7 file from Motorola website: https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ail/a_id/88481

None of their other drivers worked.

Now, that I've removed root access, how do I uninstall the Superuser application?

    GOT IT

After a bit of a mess getting the right drivers installed, (MotorolaDeviceManager_2.3.7 from the Motorola website: https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ail/a_id/88481).

I ran thru the ROOT.bat file in the Dropbox zip file HERE: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fjlmpvj5dx...ot_Atrix_2.zip

I compared it to the UNROOT batch file in the forum post I mentioned early, located at http://www.atrixforums.com/forum/att...oot-unroot.zip

It seems the problem was the root file sets the permissions of the Superuser.apk file as read only, and that the Ice Cream Sandwich update moved the file's location.

I right-clicked on root.bat and selected Edit. It opened the file in Notepad.
About halfway down the file is the follwing command
    adb.exe shell chmod 0666 /system/app/Superuser.apk

I added two lines underneath that updated the permissions & deleted the file:
    adb.exe shell chmod 0111 /system/app/Superuser.apk
    adb.exe shell rm /system/app/Superuser.apk

I saved the root.bat file and ran it.

Then I ran the unroot batch file I downloaded earlier. I ignored the message error message rm failed for /system/xbin/su, No such file or directory because the file had already been deleted.

The Superuser app is gone, and I verified using the Rootchecker app that Root Access has been removed. The Root Checker App is free in the App Store at https://play.google.com/stor/apps/de...krim.rootcheck

Hopefully this saves someone the hours I put into this!

    You're welcome, Condor.

The phone was shipped back to me today, and not a day too soon. I've been traveling all week with a crappy phone that can't hold a candle to my Atrix 2!

    Now to re-root!
