What to keep & What to uninstall ? (and any recommended must-have apps)

The new Atrix 2 is my first Android (although I've used it's predecessors, unix and linux in years past).
I just traded in my iphone 3gs and can't believe all the stuff that's available to tweak.

First up, what's crap/bloat-ware and what's useful or necessary ?
I was really surprised to find a "fake blurr xmpp" listed in the "all" list of apps.

Second, any really great must have Apps ?

Bloatware are aplications that were pre installed by the carrier and serve no purpose other than take up space and adds no value by the end user.

As for must have apps, it really depends on what you want. Everyone is going to give you their own two cents on that. But for starters check out Fancy Widgets for time and weather, Tapatalk if you plan to hang around forums for a while, WidgetLocker to customize you lockscreen, and Jorte for calendar, it just works better than the stock one. You can also have a look at custom home launchers for better customization of your home screens like Go Launcher, ADW, and Launcher Pro.

Welcome to the Android world. Bloatware is apps that are preinstalled that most likely end up taking up space on ur phone, things like AT&T Navigator, AT&T Family Finder, stuff like that. As for must have apps, here's a few I really like

    QuickPic
    GoSMS Pro
    Tapatalk
    3g Watchdog
    PowerAmp
    GoKeyboard
    WidgetLocker
    ICS Launcher
    DesktopVisualizer
    ROM Toolbox
    MyBackup
    ScreenGrabber
    Visidon Applock

    Just to name a few

How could I forget Root Explorer? That's my favorite file explorer! And Zumocast, that's definitely a must have!

I did not get that impression based on your question of what's bloatware? No harm, no foul. I don't think anyone can tell you what will or won't be useful to you, you're gonna have make that decision on your own. What I did is played with each app, see what it does and decide if its something that can be of use to me, if not, buh-bye!

    I like free apps...

Even though Motorola now includes a Panorama mode, most of the time I prefer PHOTAF since it will let you shot full 360 degrees panoramic pictures... It will do it in less resolution than the moto feature but it will open with a "Street view"-like effect very cool.

Sketchbook Mobile Xpress. For drawing and painting, the cool thing is that you can add layers and those can be your photos... so you can paint on top of them or edit them lightly.

    Google Goggles. Try it!

MoboPlayer. One of the best video players around. Recommended by our friend and administrator in this community *wicked*

ConvertPad... Best unit converter around. (it even has a calculator for your conversions, and updates currency conversions)

PocketCloud from Wyse. Remote Desktop application, which recently added pinch to zoom in its free version.

Gmote. Lets you: Browse files from your PC and open them in the computer OR in the phone / Basic Mouse for your computer with the touchscreen / Remote control for presentations and Media player. (though I cant get it to work over 3g, only wifi)

    My Fav Games

Apparatus / Modern Combat 2 / Pool Break Lite / Pocket Soccer / Real Football 2011 / FreeCell (from Oddesys) / Cut The Rope

and Nes Emulators... Nesoid, SNesoid, N64oid.
