PSA: Motorola Can Tell if You Root

No use trying to hide the fact that you've rooted your phone when sending it in for a warranty. It's always been assumed that this was the case, but now there's some proof that users can see on their own.

That doesn't mean that they certainly will or will not deny service, just that they'll know you've rooted no matter what.

:\ Fun... Moto has implemented the counter in the ICS leak for the A2, so it will probably be there for the A4G too.

    I wonder how it works...

Is this a bad thing? Aren't virtually all of us(A4G) users out of warranty now anyway?

Good point Monsta. We tend to forget the fact that time marches on for the original Atrix.

Re: PSA: Motorola Can Tell if You Root

Actually, after an odd occurrence, my 3rd Atrix is still in warranty for another 2 months.

They nearly reset my warranty on my second replacement and added 10 months.

But yes, for the most part, most users are past or near the end.

This was, though, mainly for the newer Motorola phones like the Atrix HD, RAZR HD, etc.

You're a lucky man! You've had the Atrix for what? 18 months?

It is good information for users with newer models, and something for anyone to consider that sticks with Motorola after their Atrix.
