In keeping with tradition, AT&T's Motorola Atrix HD came with a locked bootloader. While this didn't surprise anyone, that didn't diminish frustrations any. Luckily, Motorola hears and understand our frustrations and have chosen to do something about it. Just yesterday they announced they will be releasing a Developer Edition of the Atrix HD that will come with an unlocked bootloader.
We don't have any pricing or availability, but we will share those details as they emerge.

Seems pretty useless to me, as anything developed on these unlocked phones isn't going to be of any use to the majority of people who are using the locked Atrix HD. So who exactly is the market for this phone?
Martin's Android devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S3 with Quantum (CM 10.2 by PwnCakes193)
- Asus Transformer TF101 with No-Name (CM 10.2 by josteink)
- Motorola Atrix 4G with CM 7.2
Wouldn't any ROM's developed for the developers edition be able to be used for those who eventually unlock their boot loaders? Or is no one expected to be able to crack this one like we did with the 4G?

I'm assuming that last thing. Motorola locked the Atrix 2 and HD tight as a drum, and eventually did the same with the 4G, so I'm not optimistic. (I'm also glad I got and rooted my SGS3 when I did, as there are rumors that Samsung may try the same thing with its upcoming Jellybean update. But it's just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt...)
