Now that you mention it again, I don't recall a password function specifically for Tapatalk. Is it the forum password itself?

Ahh. Yes, that can only be changed via a web browser. If you don't remember it, try logging in on the main page and when it fails it will give you a "Forgot your password" link to use. If you know it and just want to change it, log in and then use the Settings link at the top right, then look down the left side of the Page for the Email and Password option.

    error in cmd command

    Hello,
Thank you all for this forum, really.

    I have Atrix 4G 2.3.6 Bell Ca

Placed all the files on pic into C:\ >> did the following 1 Put your device into Fastboot mode: – Turn off your device. – Hold down the power button and downward volume button until you see “Fastboot” on your screen – Push the upward volume button to start Fastboot (if you're already plugged in it will auto-reboot,just hold Vol down as it starts to reboot.)
2 Open your command prompt (Start >> run “cmd” >> enter)
3 Type the following commands, hitting Enter after each line:
    Code:
    cd C:/root
    fastboot flash preinstall root.img

    and got ...
"Fastboot not recognized as an internal or external ....." etc..... la de da.

    Please see screenshot.....

    Debugging is ON ....

Again thank you for this forum and support as I've already spent 10 or more hours searching and reading and pulling me one hair out ect..

I don't know how to make a thumbnail as in a pic anyway

Do you have the drivers for your phone installed on your computer?

I get the impression that your Windows environment variables do not have an entry for the Android Debug Bridge apps. If you're familiar with this you can add the path manually yourself, or simply bring your command line to rest in the appropriate folder where fastboot is actually located.

For example, mine is under C:\Nexus7\sdk\sdk\platform-tools, but drilling down to that subfolder is a chore so I keep a copy of it under C:\ADB\tools for the sake of user friendliness.

Also, ADB requires that the Java Development Kit be present on the computer. Just making sure this was the case.

Here's a "how to" that might help: How To Install and Use ADB, the Android Debug Bridge Utility

S - this should have been started in its own thread.
