Which ROM and Kernel for a stable and yet fast Bell Atrix 4G ?

I'm looking for a stable ROM and Kernel for the "Bell" Atrix.

Over-clocking and under-clocking would be great.

I need web-top (preferably with the hack) and given that my phone is properly full of glitches that I cant seem to fix, I really need it to work the first time (I have Ram issues that wont fix and screen glitches).

So I have been looking at Red Pill and Dark-Side, but I really don't know if they will run on Bell Atrix as well as the At&t versions, and CM9 has no web-top.

    Thanks in advance,

    M

Nottachtrix would probably be your best bet. It's based on 2.3.6 (unlike Darkside) and is fully functional with all of the Atrix components (including full Blur, if desired). It works on international phones and is compatible with faux kernels if you choose to OC/UV. I would strongly suggest reading through the thread for the rom over on XDA and going to Nottach's web page to ask the questions regarding any complications with ram fix and Bell phones. There are a lot of users over there that will likely have the answers that you're seeking.

Thanks a lot for that, both of you!!

    I'll be using Nottach's then.

The one thing I'm a little stumped with is that I have flashed several new recovery.img files including the recommended versions after erasing recovery and I cant get android recovery to work from the start up, i can only reboot into recovery from ROM manager

    Any Ideas why?

I'm pretty sure that i cant continue until i get this sorted, what version of CMR do you guys use? I bought the touch version but i think i need an old one.

I use RomRacer's CWM. Nottachtrix launches the aroma installer from recovery, where you can select which options you want to install.

Tartanraven: if you like Darkside, Nottachtrix is the upgrade. It takes you from GB 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 with a lot more features.

    Oh I see, thanks Carl,

I didn't quite know what the installer was for that would circumvention my problem.

You would install it the same way as if it didn't have an installer ... just that the installer takes over once you execute it from recovery.

im almost there but I'm having a he'll of a job removing this file ; /system/etc/install- recovery. sh

everytime i boot up it keeps overwriting Cmr with a stock recovery that won't boot and I don't want.

Root explorer did it, the trick is mounting correctly in root explorer.

Don't forget to reinstall the webtop from Nottach's forum files as well, if you plan on using it.

I also went with Nottachtrix recently, and ran into a few issues but eventually prevailed.

It's now faster, uses less juice, and is purring along quite nicely.
