Motorola's public statement on ICS upgrades

A note about Ice Cream Sandwich:
We are planning to upgrade DROID RAZR, Motorola RAZR, Motorola XOOM and DROID BIONIC by Motorola to Ice Cream Sandwich.
We will provide more precise guidance on timing after post-public push of Ice Cream Sandwich by Google,
as well as any possible additions to this list of devices.

    https://supportforums.motorola.com/community/manager/softwareupgrades?view=overview

With the Atrix 2 just coming out a week ago, and sharing basically identical guts with the Droid Bionic,
i'm holding out hope that it will be added to the list of devices to get the ICS upgrade.
If I don't get confirmation on that in the next 3 weeks then I will be promptly returning my phone for another device.
Also, if it's not added, I'll never buy another Motorola device as long as I live.

Don't worry. If worse comes to worse there will definitely be ROMs written for both of the Atrix phones. The source code will probably be released in December.

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite

Maybe I just need to chill a bit, after all the phone did just come out a week ago. This is just my second Android phone and the first one that is so new so there is basically no support for this thing yet
and that kind of has me feeling like I made a mistake going with this device. Hopefully the devs get some goodies cooked up once we get our forum over on XDA, cant wait to root this thing!

For sure you have nothing to complain about, you sure have the latest and greatest version right now like it is stated before. We had to wait 5 months for a official update and even that is not long to wait for. With any luck, we will see another one by February-March.

Edit/ It also could be worst, a lot of people in Europe are still on Froyo....

It's hard to believe that a handset released 1 week ago could be forgotten by Motorola already when it comes to the ICS update.
I don't expect to see the A1 on that list.

True story! I just need to chillax, enjoy my speedy phone, and let things happen in time. Aside from no root and all the tweaks that go along with it, I love my phone!

I hope the A2 doesnt get forgotten.....But you'd think such a new device would benefit from the added hype of the announcement that it will be an early adopter of ICS, much like the yet to be released RAZR. But I guess Id be in marketing if I knew what I was talking about, right?

It doesn't make potential buyers want to rush out and buy the A2 does it?!
