Angry so this might be a silly question, but its driving me nuts!

i got my atrix last week and bought the cardock to go with it. it came with all of the things i need, but NO instructions! it came with a charger cord to plug in the back of the dock. the charger has an aux plug ON it. i figured this was for music. so i took the aux cable that it came with and plugged the one end into the aux plug on the cord and the other into the headset jack on my phone. am i doing something wrong? im not a real "techy" so i dont know if im even supposed to do that. but logically it makes sense (maybe just to me). but what is this aux plug for if not for that? and how do i make the music on my phone play thru my car speakers? is there an app or something i need to download?

i seriously need some help here! im going nuts over this!

That aux plug is meant to plug into your cars' head unit. It allows you to keep the aux audio cable off the dashboard, and it's one of the features I most appreciate in this dock. No need to plug in the headphone jack for anything! The audio is output from the phone on the USB, and split off at the aux jack, to be connected to your cars radio.

my car doesnt have a aux plug in it though... so are you saying i do not need to plug it into anything and just sit it in the dock for it to work? if so, how do i do that? if not, what do i do to make it work?

If you wish to hear the output of the phone on your car radio, one choice is to get an FM transmitter that plugs into a auxiliary power port.

that is exactly what i just did davemason. and it works FLAWLESSLY! now i can listen to all of my music in my car without burning all of it to cd-r's AND it routes calls through my speakers also so its completely safe. now to just find a reliable speech to text app so i do not need to type while driving and i will be set!

You have one...Vlingo is built into the Atrix...open in from the App Dock, and set it up.
