    Alarm Clock Suggestions

    Hi folks.

I'm currently using Timely as my alarm clock, and it works well, but here's my goal:

I want my Atrix, semi-permanently plugged into its standard dock, to also display the current time, date, and perhaps some weather info, all the time.

Now the trick is, the screen should remain active - but not burn in a set image from a prolonged display activity. Perhaps something that moves occasionally on the screen, or has a moving background... there are no limits.

Does anyone have something to propose?

I'll be looking up some options myself as well, but word of mouth from a trusted source is always better.

I think the trick is not burning a set image-that's going to be hard to find. I checked out timely, ands it looks pretty nice. I was going to suggest double twist, bit I don't think you are going to see much of an improvement. You might try emailing the timely dev and mention your concern about the screen. Maybe he can create a floating mode where the clock would move around... Just thinking out loud...

I've been trying out Timely this week, and it does have a limited dimming option for nighttime display. I like your idea of contacting the dev though.

Next week I'll try another app and report back.

I've used Alarm Klock for several years. I've tried a few different apps, but always keep coming back to this one. It just works and does not have a lot of bells and whistles.

Since learning that the full version of Timely is now available, I'm playing around with the settings again and appreciating it even more as a semi-permanent nightstand app.

The last app I was trying was My Alarm Clock Free, but I found that the static display was too bright at nighttime.

I think the most interesting feature for me is the cloud sync, where all my Android devices that have timely installed can sync up - and even all ring / be snoozed / be turned off from one device.

That's just nifty, pardon my age.

Do you have a dock for your atrix? I just posted about this in the kernel port thread, but figured I would post it here too as it applies. I am running AtrICS with a webtop 3.0 enabled kernel by Krystian. It has a neat bedside clock function, which dims nicely and the clock moves slowly around the screen.
