I beseech thee, please bless me with our knowledge...
Is there an app that I can download that will allow me to read my vast collection of .lit books? I know .lit is a MS format and MS doesn't usually play nicely with anyone else, but is there a way I can read them on a Droid?
Most of the readers I see (Calibre?) will only read .lit files after they are converted to another format. If that's the case, I have a few other questions:
How is the conversion process?
Can the conversion be done on the Atrix, or does it have to be on a PC?
How does it work if the e-books are locked (ie, needing a credit card code to open)?
If I have a decent pressure washer, so I still need toilet paper?
Are there any other e-reader apps I should look at?

Safety equipment amuses me. What good are steel toes and a plastic hat when the crane is lifting 15 tonnes over your head?

preshur washurs r gud.
Sorry, was that too much info all at once?
The issue with .lit books seems to be that Microsoft owns the rights to everything having to do with .lit, including reading it. No one has developed an Android app to read them under fear of backlash from MS.
Most .lit files will be DRM protected, but if you have any that are not then they can be converted using the PC application from Calibre (calibre - E-book management) but there is no conversion on the phone itself.
I've never done any of this myself, so I can't answer the unlock/credit card code, but I imagine if it's locked then it won't convert.
That's what I'd thought as well. Thanks for the input!

I'm also looking for "THE" ebook reader and have tried Aldiko, Kobo, FBReader, etc.
I'm using Kobo a lot, but mostly because I got a bunch of free books from that interface.
Cool Reader was installed last night on my Atrix so I've yet to really test it, but is seems to cover the formats I need covered (besides LIT): epub (non-DRM), fb2, doc, txt, rtf, html, chm, tcr, pdb, prc, mobi (non-DRM), pml.
Moon+ also seems interesting, but no LIT.
Here's a quick comparison I found online: Android E-Book Reader App Comparison « senk9@wp
For converting LIT files, when I had a number of them and wanted to read them on my Blackberry, I used ABC Amber.
Thanks for the info. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Cool Reader. Any of those readers stand out for you?
