[How-To] Change the amount of time your phone rings!
Hi all, I was googling around today wondering something about the bunch of ringtones/notifications I'm compiling, and I found a pretty cool post on this MacRumors thread. It pretty much said how to change the amount of time a caller has to wait before being sent to voice mail. Here's how to do it:
1- Dial *#61# on your device. It should say something like this:
Code:
Call Forwarding
Voice: +########## after XX seconds
The "+###..." is the number that calls are forwarded to- write this down. The "XX" is the amount of time a caller has to wait in seconds.
2- Dial **61*+##########*11*XX# with "+###..." being the number you wrote down, and "XX" being the new amount of time. Note that the amount of time can only be increased/decreased in 5 second intervals, i.e. you can enter "15" but not "26". You should get a "Network Message" saying something like this:
Code:
Call Forwarding
Registration was successful
3- Everything should now be set up! You can check by dialing *#61# and seeing how much time the caller has to wait, or calling the device and seeing how long you wait until voicemail.
Have fun fooling around with this neat trick!
NOTE #1- All credit for this method goes to the user Type121 on the MacRumors forum, I just made this method a bit easier to understand (I hope)
NOTE #2- The maximum time is 30 seconds-you will get an error if you try anything above it.
NOTE #3- I am pretty sure that the time one waits isn't always the exact seconds- the person that makes the call waits for about x seconds depending on what you set and network lag, and you hear your phone ring for about x many seconds depending on what you set and network lag - this is why you sometimes pick up when your phone is ringing but the call has been missed.
