Does the Atrix just run hot? Also, how is your battery life?

I just installed the Nottachtrix rom 1.0.1, full version w/ blur & web top. I previously had, well I forget what I had but it was an aftermarket rom also. Ive had so many on this phone I forget.

Anyway, my Atrix always runs hot. I don't have a temp monitor installed yet, can someone recommend one, say a temp WIDGET would be great.

Also, the battery life is pretty poor. What I would like to do is try and measure the current capacity of my battery and compare it to the OEM new level, to see if maybe its not the phone thats at fault, but an old worn out battery.

    Thanks

    b

I haven't looked, but it's possible the custom ROMs you were/are using include overclocked kernels (faux123's and Clemsyn's overclocked kernels are popular add-ons for custom ROMs). Overclocked kernels tend to be harder on battery life than stock kernels, and often run hotter. Best way to check if you have one is to look in Settings - About Phone and see what the "Kernel Version" entry says. If it includes the words "faux" or "Clemsyn", then it's an overclocked kernel, and ve hav vays of making zem behave.

Widgetsoid is one of my favorite apps and has a battery temp monitor on it. It also has alot of other nice control features for the phone.

Thanks, I never knew that part about the kernel.

Nottachtrix does not use an overclocked kernel unless you add one. You have the stock version installed. With most roms, I've found that battery life increases over time with successive cycles. I'm not seeing an overheating issue with this rom.

Thanks, Carl. Always best to double-check these things.
