    External SD Card

I have a Lexar 32GB Class 10 SD card and I can mount it using either Windows Media Sync or USB Mass Storage and when I send files to the card, it gets copied. I make a folder at the root, but when I go back and add files later, those folders are no longer there, but the Atrix shows the folders I added initially. Any idea on what is going on?

I'm having a little trouble myself. I want to keep all my media on the SD card.. when I inserted the card the phone detected it and asked if I wanted to use it for storage. I said yes, connected it to my PC and started up the Motorola Media Link. It couldn't find the phone anymore.

So, I figure I'll just use Mass Storage Mode and load files up manually myself for the time being. I use Zune as my media player and of course it doesn't sync with the Atrix. My zune playlists are .zpl files too which I'm sure the phone won't read... ugh.

Anyway, did you tell the phone to use the SD card when you first put it in? Try removing it and re-inserting.

Yeah, I told the phone to use the external SD card. Right now I'm using Windows Media Sync to transfer songs over. I'll see how it goes in a little bit.

Hi, wbonillajr! Welcome to the forums!

Does your PC recognize the card and can it read and write files to it?

I had the same problem with my SD card as well. First thing I would do is take the card out and reinsert it. Then when you reinsert it push it down a couple of extra time to insure it seated well. This fixed my issue and might be a good start to your trouble shooting.

Another thing is it appears (with mine anyway) that the phone will take a 32 gb card and make 2 16 GB cards out of it. I have an "SDCard" and a "SDCard-ext". I keep all my music on the extended partition - not sure what the system does with the first SDCard but it seems to plop a lot on there...

I thought the SDCard was for the internal memory and the SDCard-ext was for the memory card?
