Replaced my Atrix, need to get from Asia rom to US

Thanks in advance for any help, as the title says I replaced my dog mauled MB860 with a new one. The new one is fine and works great but it has the Asia 2.3.4 image on it and no OTA updates available. So to prep for getting the 4.0 update I want to just swap roms, by putting the stock locked ATT MB860 US rom on it. I don't want root or anything else just swap one rom for the other. How can I get this to happen?

Do you know where the new phone is from? Is it an Asian import? Where did you get it from?

If it's a true Asian version of the phone, then you cannot install an AT&T firmware on it and even if you did it wouldn't accept an OTA from AT&T.

I bought it from ebay, and it has 45.31.0.MB860.AsiaRetail.en.03

    APflex
    GAS_ASIA_USAOLYGBSEARET_P011
    GAS_ASIA_USAOLYGBSEARET_A003
    GAS_ASIA_USAOLYEMSEARET_M001

    Build
    4.5.2A-74_OLE-31

Which seems like a stock rom by looks and is working with ATT now. As for the hardware the IME on the phone matches the box and everything is in english. Other than that I can't tell?

Interesting. There's no carrier branding on the phone or the box? I haven't seen an unbranded retail box for the Atrix, so I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like. (Edit: Scratch that, just found a few... look like the box in these listings? This ebay listing or this ebay listing)

If it is indeed an international unlocked/retail version, then you're not likely going to get an AT&T stock firmware on it to be able to accept OTA updates/upgrades.

Yup it's like the first link. So if no ATT image, will I be able to get an international vanilla 4.0 with out unlocking?

Well, we're not sure yet. According to the official Update Page from Motorola: https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c, the phone's from that area are in Evaluation and Planning, whatever that means.

So, it's possible that the Asia Retail version will get ICS. If not, it's likely that at lease a few international versions of the Atrix will get it and you *should* be able to flash one of their SBF firmware files if they leak.
