You can connect it before you start.

    C:\root>adb shell

EDIT: Should all of the commands listed in the outline be typed in through my PC or through Terminal Emulator??
Possibly check device manager on your PC, did the drivers installed correctly? Installed the latest drivers? Connected to rear USB port? Debugging turned on before rebooting?

Yeah, sorry about that... I'm going to try to find a way to get it to reformat so they don't scroll. Put it up at 2:30a. :-P

Have to get back to a PC to do it though.

Ok, i got all the way to the end but i already had superuser installed from when i was rooted way back when so it didnt reinstall it. It then wouldnt recognize the "Exit" command so i just closed out the prompt menu. How can I double check to make sure I actually got root access?

Just open TiBU and it will either say superuser access granted or it will tell you it won't work.

Everything is installed right, debugging on, have tried all USB ports... am at a complete loss as to why this isn't working. Found this over on XDA and it isn't working either.... [26.04.2011][v1.2] GingerBreak APK (root for GingerBread) - xda-developers

Maybe I'm just not supposed to be rooted... should have stuck with Froyo I guess.

Had a stock 2.2 phone and upgraded to official OTA gingerbread today. Followed these directions and it worked fine, rooted!

Now that you guys are rooted how are you optimizing your Atrix? I have read that SetCPU isn't quite optimized for our phones just yet, and truthfully don't want to tinker with the CPU settings without knowing what I am doing. So far I have downloaded Titanium Backup Pro, AdFree, WiFi Tether, Market Access (I downloaded this to see what funny apps from Japan I could download however noticed there doesn't seem to be one?) and BusyBox.

I am most looking forward to the ability to enable the webtop hack once it is further stabilized for GingerBread. Huzzaaah!
