    Please Check Your AT&T Account if You Have Used the Mobile Hotspot

    Hey Everyone,

    Could all who have successfully used the method in this post:

    [HOW TO] Tethering without ROOT.

    ...check their AT&T account over the next few days to verify if the Tethering addon has been force-added to your account or not?

    A few users on another site have reported that they have had it added to their account due to this. I don't know if this is true, or if it's even resulting from this process, but I just want to make sure everyone is informed if it is.

    Your account features can be checked online (wireless.att.com), via the My AT&T app that comes pre-installed on your Atrix, or by calling AT&T CS (611).

    I used the tethering method and as of the time of these post i still have Datapro2G for HSPA+/4G smartphones if it changes I'll be sure to post it prior to calling them to cuzz and fuss

    Nothing added on to my bill, but I do see this:

    02/2309:54 AM wap.cingular Internet/MEdia Net Sent 49KB

    Which was about the time I confirmed that the tethering worked.

    If I can't hotspot tether I'll just do it via usb with pdanet and best believe if and when these AT&T bastard allow us real upload Im got pass bandwidth out like halloween candy

    Set up hotspot on the first day (22nd) and forgot to switch back, so my usage now says 'phone' the first couple of hours that day, then 'wap.cingular' for the next two days. I switched back when I discovered my error. It's been 'phone' ever since. No changes on my account - I have the unlimited plan as well.

    Thanks for the replies everyone. There doesn't seem to be an epidemic, yet. I'll just keep my eyes on the other forums discussing this and I'll let you all know if I see anything to cause concern. It's going to hopefully turn out to be nothing. Thanks!
