[How-To] Safely Take Care of 'Bloatware' Until a Restore Method is Found

There has just been a GREAT thread posted over on XDA explaining the safest method of 'taking care' of the unwanted software that comes preinstalled on your Atrix. It's so good, in fact, that it deserves a direct link so that you can stay updated as the info changes. For those interested, here it is:

Lol! Its not that bad. Just a few egos that could be left behind. Lot of cool (read: nerdy) info.

I know, but tbh, I have my hands full here and my other fora You may not be familiar with my general disdain for egomaniacal developers either

    bloatware removal warning and question

at the outset, i'm a former iphone guy and a newbie to droids -and am still learning- so, my apologies if this suggestion and question are "no brainers"... )

first, an fyi re: the instructions on xda's bloatware page...

when i followed them (to the letter) last night, my phone locked up and the only way i could get past the at&t intro screen on start-up was to hard boot and restore the phone to factory defaults. luckily, my phone is still rooted but all apps that i downloaded were gone and i had to reload them today. if you follow their instructions, you may want to do a backup BEFOREHAND -so that if you encounter the same problem i did, you can easily return your phone to it's original condition.

now the question: what is the recommended method for backing up the rooted atrix?

    thanks a million!

I use Titanuim Backup to backup/restore any apps on my rooted Atrix. The paid version of Titaniun Backup should also allow you to freeze/thaw bloatware apps.
