    upset

My Atrix lost all my photos from an important tradeshow.
read through this thread and nothing helped.

i had just plugged my Atrix into my PC via USB, and started the Motorola MediaLink application and it revealed that I had _nothing_ on my SD card.
It was there before i conected, all in the gallery, and once the phone connected to the Moto-software, boom. gone. ALL of the photos I had taken over the past 2 weeks are now lost. forever, it would appear.

this wasn't an issue of disconnecting improperly.

how could such a great phone that takes such good pictures have such a 'delicate' interface?

i spent thousands on this tradeshow and the only photos i have left now are the half-dozen i'd emailed during the show.

    I am extremely upset.

Some times it happen but you should try some data recovery software, once the same thing was happen with me and then a software named kernel for fat and ntfs photo recovery tool helped me, it recovered the photos and data from memory card as well while i connected my phone to my pc as a storage device it scan my phone and recover my pics. you can try it.

Are you certain that they're not in a location that the Moto-software doesn't look? Using a file manager look in /mnt/sdcard/dcim/camera and see if the files are there. Sometimes the softwares don't play nicely.

On another note, if I were concerned about important pictures to have for future, I think I'd rely on something other than a phone-cam ... but that's just me (a photographer).

Which software recovery program did you use? Was it an app or one from your computer?

    Hi Andycanuck,

I feel your pain. I'm having similar problems where I lost a lot of important images and files/folders. We're you able to recover your image files? If so, what did you do? If not, are you still confident enough to connect your phone via USB to a computer? I get the feeling this causes many problems (even if disconnecting safely).

Does anyone in this group recommend a way to recover files/folders/pictures that disappeared from Internal Phone Storage? And would anyone happen to know if any tech support at Motorola offers any decent/usable advice on a fix?

You would think that such an advanced company being the inventors of the 6-sigma quality control system would have their act together and not let their dear (or are they?) customers lose invaluable photos and files. I would think that having the pictures you take on your phone actually stay there a **basic/minimum expectation** about a mobile phone (regardless if they are the Android developers or not – they put it on their phone). Mmmm, is it just me or these companies care *only* about profits and not their customers?

    - also extremely frustrated and disappointed.

Mine also deleted from internal storage yesterday and I haven't used a USB cord to download anything.

Just had this happen tonight. Hooked it up to USB and ran Easeus data recovery on the DCIM folder and recovered all the pics in hardly any time at all.

I don't know what caused it, we had plugged it into the OEM Motorola car charger on the way home and then noticed all the pics were gone a short while later after we had gotten home. Swiftkey X was also installed earlier in the day and it kept crashing when I was trying to connect USB and find the drive in Windows Explorer. Uninstalled Swiftkey X and then had no problem accessing the drive in Windows.

    Hey, welcome to the forums!

Interesting... SwiftKey X has been presenting quite a few different issues since it's release. Thanks for sharing this and glad you got your files back!

I know one cause of this is possible (dont know if it applies to you or anyone else in this thread having the issue) the sd card itself. If the photos were on your ext sd - and you purchased it off of ebay or somewhere else for cheap, these cards are in fact fake capacities. das8nt posted a thread a while back about this - and the only way he could prove it was the sd card was to make numerous copies of fairly decent sized files and start filling up the sd card - sure enough, files just started vanishing once the actual capacity was reached....

Aside from that - I dont know off the top of my head, of anything else that would cause this to happen. I've not heard of anything else that would do this. I'll do some checking and see what i can dig up.

If you need help, and I appear to be offline, shoot me a msg on Gtalk, or PM me and I'll respond as soon as I possibly can!!
