    Update:
    Up until this morning I had received no response from Chase on the issue. So I called the Chase mobile banking department again and was connected with another specialist. He said that the issue is a known, system-wide problem affecting lots of people and that it will likely take some time to resolve. He further stated it will require determination of the exact cause and will most likely involve system reprogramming. He told me there can be no ETA for a fix.

    Final update:
    The cause of this issue has been identified. Despite what the previous Chase specialist told me yesterday morning about the failure being system-wide and requiring some time to resolve, I received a call from another Chase employee about it later in the day. This time the Chase representative told me the problem was likely related to the size and shape of the check and/or the positioning of its signature and account / routing number blocks, and also possibly the background color or pattern.

    And that was in fact the problem. I subsequently attempted to deposit a fairly regular looking personal check using the QuickDeposit function and it worked fine. Maybe this will help someone experiencing the same issue.

    It no longer works for me, I have been depositing checks for over a year. I have an Android, but this AM I tried it on an iPhone 5. No luck. Same error message. "Picture is not clear enough, please take to a Chase bank." The app does not allow the camera to use the flash. I have put the check under bright lights - no luck. I called Chase support - no help. I am considering switching banks.
