    Failed to Boot2

Pardon me for any dumb questions or faux pas I make, but I need help.
I'm new to the Droid community, just traded my iPhone for an Atrix, which probably wasn't smart. I'm stuck on someone else's MotoBlur. I've tried to reset to factory data and Android recovery. Both come up with "Failed to Boot2". I can reset it again, and log into his MotoBlur, but I would like my own on the phone.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

When the phone is on, can you tell me what build number the phone is on?

It's in Settings > About phone

Hmm. It's very odd that the factory reset isn't clearing his Blur account and allowing you to create one.

The reason I asked about the build number is that if you were on an earlier build then we could have you flash a SBF file that would completely wipe the OS and reset everything. But we don't have a 4.5.91 full version that will accomplish that, and there's no flashing backwards as it will brick you.

After the factory reset, when it asked you to log in, is there no way to change the user name to your own? If you haven't already, you can set up a new account here: https://portal-blur.svcmot.com/blur-...rtal/?l=en_US#

Well, it won't factory reset at all. It will come up with "failed to boot2, starting rsd mode".
And I can remove the battery to reset it, but it goes back to his motoblur.
Is there no way to flash it to stock GB?

Extract this fastboot package to C:\fastboot\
    http://bandbinnovations.com/xda/ging...d/fastboot.zip

Make sure all the phone drivers are isntalled on your PC
USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA
Open up a command prompt, Windows Start Menu > Run > type cmd > hit enter.
Turn off phone. Hold power button and volume down key until 'fastboot' appears on the top of the Motorola boot screen. Then plug phone into pc, hit up volume key so it says 'starting fastboot protocol'

Then in the command prompt in pc type the following:
    cd C:\fastboot
    fastboot -w
    fastboot reboot

With enters after each line, this is the equivalent of a factory reset, sounds like Android Recovery isn't working for you which is what is standardly used.

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite

Isn't fastboot for for unlocked bootloaders though?

Try what Sam posted above and see if that helps.

You can flash the 4.5.91 SBF but it's only a Service file which means it won't fully wipe the phone, just repair the system files. That, though, might fix the factory reset function.

Some functions worked when locked. Not sure about the -w (wipe) function, but if it doesn't then it won't hurt anything.
