    Weird problems after self-reboot

    Hi everyone,

I have a few weird problems after experiencing a self-reboot whilst I was listening to MP3.

Here are the 2 main problems:

    1. The SwiftKey X keyboard is not using up the entire screen. Previously it did this, and I turned off "Compatibility Mode" using Spare Parts, however since the reboot, regardless of whether "Compatibility Mode" is turned on or off, it still does not fill the entire screen.

    2. The Motoblur Home screen. Now when I swipe left or right, the bottom bar with the "Phone, App, Contact" does not hide, instead the navigation bar just overlay on top of it.

Anyone with any guidance on how to fix this or what caused this?

    Thanks in advance!

Hey there. Sounds like you got some serious software issues. It most definitely isn't supposed to overlay one on the other. Do you have anything installed such as LCD Density or other apps that change the screen size at all?

Have you done a battery pull? How old is the phone? did the problems just occur for the first time?

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite

    Hmm. Very odd.

Maybe try to turn Comp. Mode back on and uninstall both Spare Parts and SwiftKey. Then boot into Android Recovery and wipe the cache partition. Then try reinstalling both apps and turning it off once again.

Just kinda taking a guess at the first, and least invasive, approach first.

Nope. Nothing it is stock, unrooted. The only app that could potentially screw up anything would be Spare Parts.

My phone is less than 2 weeks old. This is the first time experienced this.

My phone is stock, so would not be able to do much.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers!

Did you remove uninstall swiftkey and spare parts? And are these from the market? or did you install these from a different source?

You can still wipe cache with stock using android recovery. Turn off phone and hold power and volume down until fastboot appears on Motorola boot screen. Then use volume down to scroll to android recovery and click up to select. You will see a android robot next to a caution sign. You have to click somewhere on the bottom of the screen to bypass it, I think its the bottom right or left? Just keep clicking till you see a menu. Then volume keys scroll and power button selects.

    Also try a battery pull.

Sorry, should have specified; the steps I suggested are all for stock/unrooted phones.

    thekooliest, das8nt,

Thank you for the info on the recovery mode, did not realized that it is available on stock rom, my bad.

Tried removing the Spare Parts and clearing the cache. Problem still persists.

Would you be willing to do a factory reset as the next option?
