Issues after upgrading to Alien v.4 ROM

Recently, I rooted my phone running 2.3.4 Gingerbread using the link here http://www.atrixforums.com/forum/mot...d-2-3-4-a.html, Installed Tenfars CWM Recovery, and flashed the Alien theme, followed by the Alien ROM.

The ROM flashed fine, but now it seems I lost root AND camera app. I also did not get all of the features.

So now, what I'm asking is do I have to re-root the phone? And how will that work, since I already have Superuser installed?

    Any help would be appreciated

You need to have an unlocked bootloader in order to install CWM and custom roms. From you're post you say you're rooted but not unlocked. But are you rooted and unlocked?

But, assuming you're unlocked due to the fact you say you flashed Alien fine, did you wipe data/cache/dalvik cache before flashing the ROM? Also you shouldn't lose root when you flash a custom ROM. If Superuser is installed, uninstall it and download it from the market.

Well, if you did it as you said you did it, you did it wrong. The instructions tell you to flash the Alien rom, then boot and load the rom fully BEFORE flashing the theme. Alien includes root when you flash it, so there is no need to root again. The reason you don't have all of the features is due to the way you flashed.

Boot into CWM again, flash Alien v4.0 rom. Boot your device and go through the setup. After you do your setup, power down and boot into CWM again. Flash the theme (although, I found the rom ran better without the theme for some reason (unless he's updated it since then)).

Didn't even catch that he flashed the theme before the ROM, I hate mornings.

I agree Carl. The theme adds little to the rom and causes it to run slower.
