It flips between the two because it's now more accurate. Signal strength fluctuates often and is never constant. If it says H+ indefinitely, it's not correct. So, the switching is a good thing. It keeps you abreast to what is actually going on.

: ) Glad to hear you've got improved speeds.

ya i figured that but the stability in connection was what i was actually looking for. and i just tried the 1 bar fix and it does not work with this cm7 so i will have to deal with that but it doesn't seem to stay like it did for others so i dont think that is much of the problem or it was already integrated will need to check the changelog to be sure. but like it so far.

In CM7, go to the settings and change your signal display to show dBm instead of the bars. It's more accurate, anyway. settings>cyananogenMod settings>interface>status bar tweaks>alternate signal display.

Also, go to your access point names (settings>Wifi>mobile networks>Access point names) and select At&t US HSDPA (if not already) (assuming you're on AT&T)

The lower the number the better the signal.

I'm in a weak area and I get around -87 and sometimes goes over -100 indoors ... when I go toward town it drops quite a bit.

Don't know if you did any speed tests before, but you should see better upload and download speeds with the HSPA APN

I am seeing some decent upload speeds for where I am at. 1mb up and 1 down. Have seen better on other roms though. But was just doing a Couple tests and saw a words speed it was 918 kbps down and 7.5 mbps up so either it's broken or it is super fast at upload at least.
