If you deleted a system file chances are you won't be able to restore it with factory reset. But let's see what the more knowledgeable guys here have to say or if they can point you out in the right direction.

I assume you are rooted, do you have a custom ROM in place?

What carrier and build number are you on? I can try to find one, or if there's a Service SBF available you could flash then and then re-root. You may need to re-root anyway when this is done since the xbin took a part of the su binary with it.

Edit: also, what's the current state of your phone? soft-brick? or functional?

Easiest method to fix this would be to flash the 2.3.4 Service SBF for Telstra found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=159

I second the wise s8nt on this one. His tutorial for SBF flashing with RSD Lite can be found here:

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite

You can. It will take you directly to Gingerbread and should keep most of your settings and apps in place, or at least the ones that are forward compatible.

You could also use the file from the Superthread:

    Name: 125467.JPG
Views: 376
Size: 21.6 KB

This would completely wipe your phone and put you back at Retail Stock. You could then update OTA from there. It would wipe everything except your SD card and internal storage.
