I honestly don't have a backup plan. If something happens to my device ultimately I'll end up buying a new one.

Im pretty sure that's everyones back up plan. If something goes wrong there'd nothing you can do but get a new one. Whether its throwing your phone in a bucket of water so u can claim insurance on it or just getting a different device

Whenever I've flashed a new ROM, I've made a CWM backup of the current configuration, right back to my original stock Gingerbread configuration, plus I use Titanium Backup and backup up apps and data as often as I can. All backups are stored on my external SD card, which should help prevent losing backup data in the event of a mind-shattering, catastrophic crash.

That's what I had done when my phone would not turn on after trying to install cm7 reflashed the back up but wait that didn't work so I had to use the back up rom on my ext. And just flashed that I prayed and prayed then it turned on so happy.

I use Titanium backup to backup all my apps and data(settings, etc). Then copy the files to the microSD/PC just for safe keeping. Restoring my apps after a ROM install is a snap with Pro version of Titanium Backup.

No need to backup the Stock ROM because all Stock ROMs are at Atrix Firmwares Superthread. Just find your region/carrier, download it, and Flash it if you need to.
