    Unhappy problem with update 4.1.83.en.us

    greetings forum,

I bought a Atrix today and I went to do a update to 4.1.83.en.us, however when using wireless it just sticks on 0%. I''ve reset the phone to factory settings and it still does the same thing. I've done a bit of searching and it seems that some users have come up with the same problem because their phone is already rooted?

Anyways, can anyone give me a few pointers on this please?

    Cheers all!

    Hi and welcome!

Root shouldn't keep the download from starting and fully downloading, but changes made to the system with root can effect the actual install and cause it to fail. I might recommend using the manual download from the Motorola website found here instead of the OTA if it won't download for some reason: ATRIX 4G Software Update Page - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

I'll be here to cover for s8nt because he just drops on occasionally. I would try his suggestion first because usually when a system file is modified with root disabling OTAs it gets partially through installing and then fails.

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite
