    Unlocked Bootloaders only obviously

Ok - Kholk has been updating this thing and has now made available, a 1.1ghz overclocked kernel.
HOWEVER - there are sound issues being reported. He says hes currently debugging them right now - ETA is about 4-5 hrs. Also he says that hes testing a 1.4ghz OC kernel as well.

This is NOT for the feint of heart, or inexperienced user! Please leave this alone if you dont understand what this is/does.

I dont get it...what is this exactly? And should someone like me who has never worked with an Android device even bother with this?
My Atrix is back on the Pill so i decided to take off the case.
I think this is where i say something witty, clever, and cool.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS UNLESS YOU WANT A SOFTBRICK!

This does nothing but softbrick your phone when using the cwm install. It has updated drivers and thats it, I actually have no idea what it does. I support all dev's but Kholk does nothing but released untested work, that usually does nothing and or bricks your phone. He seems to get alot of donations for it also.

There are a couple users who followed the instructions 'properly' and have it actually working juts fine. The correct method as i understand is using the wireless.ko thats mentioned.

A lot of users are bashing kholk for accepting donations without first realizing the fact that they CHOSE to donate to him. Nobody had a gun to their head.

If I'm reading it right, here's what I gather from it: This would be a modified kernel with optimization for some aspects of the OS. That is if this turns out to be something stable. Right now it will not help you in any way, even if you get it to install. It is merely a base with added events and hooks for building code upon. Nothing that is being changed in this will effect how the stock software interacts, at least not noticeably. It's best to leave this as a developer tool for right now until something can be written to take advantage of it.

I saw this the other day while flipping through XDA... The reason that WiFi doesn't work is because the WiFi kernel module needs to be recompiled and linked to the new kernel build, which he could have included but he didn't for some reason.

Needless to say, he should have "DEVS ONLY" written all over it in big red letters. Nobody (devs excluded) likes a brick... even a softbrick. Plus it would have been nice if he would have posted source somewhere... Github per se.

When I get some Gingerbread source from Motorola, after official release, I'll put up a unified GIT repo for Gingerbread Atrix kernel source.

Thanks! It's nice having someone as knowledgeable as you around.

Looking forward to what you're able to do with our little pride and joy. Do you know yet what hurdles you'll run into with the scanner?

    LOL.. Knowledgeable.. HA!

But yea, it's a lot of security framework changes. Namely android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and some Blur framework that I haven't decompiled yet.

Gotta love how Moto takes one string and wraps it around just about everything...

Hehe. Well, it's way out of my league, so I'll be standing by my 'knowledgeable' claim.

Are you picking up an Atrix as a personal phone, or just 'testing' one for a few weeks?
