    [ROM] - The DarkSide v4.5.9 (updated 1/4/2012)

You guys may want to give DarkSide a look if you're considering switching roms. I've been running it for a day or so with absolutely no problems and I must admit it's about the fastest rom I've had on my Atrix. I downloaded it from XDA Developers Forum - [ROM] The DarkSide v4.5.9 [2.3.5][EXT4][LS HDMI][Tweaks] - and also tried out a few of the Mods shown after the download information for the rom itself.

Give it a try - it's pretty good!

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite

WOW!! That's all I can say. This rom seems to be optimized for the Atrix and it's dual processors, but your score with CM-7 is astounding!

I flashed to this ROM this morning, and I am IMPRESSED! I love the red theme; I've had a maroon Seidio case for my phone, and now it looks as sleek as it performs.

Just to confirm about the optional mods listed on the site with the ROM, do I flash those the same way, through Recovery, with or without wiping the cache and Dalvik? Are they made up of just enough code to patch over the appropriate spots in the total ROM, so flashing them won't get rid of the rest of the ROM code?

Hi there! Yes, you flash them the same way. But a word of caution. Read the instructions carefully because, depending on the version of the rom you installed, some of those optional mods are already included in the rom itself.

    v1.4 Fresh Install: Full-Wipe Download
(Full-Wipe) (For New Users) (Includes Data Icon Mod) (Does Not Include Inverted Settings Mod)

This does have the mod which shows the 3G/4G figures but doesn't include the inverted (black) settings mod.

The animated pulldown, the inverted (black) settings, and the red swype are all not included in the full rom but worth adding by way of downloading the separate mods.

The installation of those only takes a couple of minutes - flashing the same as the rom. Also, if you have ADW Launcher installed, take a look at the Red Ice theme. It matches up well with the theme of this rom.

    HTH,

    -Mike
