The "right" recovery
I would love to sample all the roms that the atrix dev's have to offer but I get worried that I will have the wrong recovery for a certain rom. I'm on cm7 weekly 3 and rom manager's CWM right now and it works great but haven't branched out of the cm7 world yet.
Is it safe to flash a recovery that works with all (or at least a variety!) of the currently available roms or am I stuck with a "use this recovery for that rom but don't use that rom for this rom" situation?

It's my understanding, that Rom Racer's CWM Recovery is made specifically for the Atrix, so that's the one you should use. I believe you can flash Rom Racer's CWM, and ROM Manager will use that recovery, so you get the best of both worlds.Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.......

I only use RomRacers recovery. When I didn't have it, I used ROM manager to flash it.

I've used both RomRacer's and RomManager successfully on several roms. Currently relying on RomRacer's running through RomManager. You'll be fine with RomRacer's for just about anything out there right now.

Thanks for the great responses! Very reassuring. I just flashed romracer's recovery with rom manager with no problems after a rom backup. So to be sure, I'm now safe to flash darkside, alien and redpill?

Yup, you should be good to go.
FYI to all, you can use RomRacer's recovery with ROM Manager -- I'm doing it right now -- but it won't work if you already have RomRacer's recovery installed and then install ROM Manager (or a ROM with ROM Manager), because ROM Manager won't recognize it as valid. You can, however, make it work by following these steps:
1. Install ROM Manager, or a ROM that has it built-in (such as CM7).
2. Run ROM Manager and install its recovery.
3. Install RomRacer's recovery using the recommended methods.
The trick here is to install ROM Manager's recovery first so that it sees a valid recovery in place. Once that's done, you can install RomRacer's recovery and ROM Manager will use it without a problem (since it's fully compatible). You may or may not have to repeat this procedure if you do a full-wipe-and-install with CM7 or RedPill Hybrid; I couldn't say for sure, since I had to do this when going from RedPill Blur to the Hybrid pre-release, but not when I upgraded from the pre-release to the RC. Basically, I guess that if ROM Manager complains, use this procedure to shut it up.

You will have to repeat the procedure after a full wipe and reinstall of RomManager if you want to continue to use RomRacer's....of course, it only takes about 3 or 4 minutes to do so....no big deal.

Thanks carl_h. Then basically, it's like I said: if ROM Manager complains, use this procedure to shut it up.
