Thanks for the post! That's a really good step-by-step.

SO, unless you're G-Man, and like to do these things just for fun... this is just mainly for recovering from a bricked phone. It won't give you anything that you didn't have when you got the phone new.

Also, if you're using this to try to revert back to a fully clean stock phone please note the following quote from cellzealot:

"I would suggest a large warning to always charge the battery completely before any flash attempt.
The phone cannot charge in bootloader and if you get stuck or need to reflash several times you can run the risk of a dead battery if the phone will not boot normally to recharge it.

Another important note is it is a very common misconception that flashing and SBF file completely restores the phone to a stock factory state. This is not true. Most SBF files and in particular official release builds do not write to cache or user data partitions by default and you must factory reset/wipe either in recovery or from the phone menu after flashing if you want a truly clean configuration."
    Something I wasn't aware of...

I like to live dangerous like that Plus i wanted to removed the deodex job from my phone - designgears and some others have said that it could interfere with future updates... unless i come across a true reason to need it - ill just leave it as an odexed system for now...

Hola, i'm an android noob as well. I came over from the dark side, first windows phones using htc hardware, then apple with an iphone 3g. I hacked and jailbroke all of those devices. I was lookin for a change and i bought an atrix, and love it so far. i have rooted it. but would like a custom rom. i dont feel like im gettin all i could out of a phone with such impressive specs using Motorola blur. I would like rom recommendations please. any info and advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Wife and I are both rocking GingerBlur, works pretty smoothly. I liked Adeo as well. But a piece of info I thought I'd toss on here: flashing the sbf (like I did to recover from some bricks >.>) causes some apps to not appear in the market. A fix is now out for that, I can confirm that it works fantastically. Open a shell on your Atrix, connect to USB: None, open a command prompt (in Windows, if you're using something else, do what you do for ADB commands), and type:

    adb shell
    su
    sed -i 's!OLYFR_U4_1.5.2/1298398352!OLYFR_U4_1.2.6/1296900353!' /system/build.prop
    reboot
That's it. Hope someone gets as much use out of this as I did, it was driving me bananas!
