Smile Take it easy on me... I'm new to these parts :)

Hey guys! I've had my Atrix for a couple weeks now... loving it!
Both of my brothers have Droids (the X I think) on VzW, and I've been jealous for a while.... when it came time to upgrade on AT&T (and get rid of the iPhone!), I saw this phone and fell in love!
One of my brothers rooted his phone and was showing off all his custom ROMs and apps. I'm really interested in doing that on my Atrix.
Has anyone else done this to their Atrix? Unfortunately I already accepted the upgrade to 2.2.2. Will this affect my ability to root or install ROMs?
I'm really excited to explore the capabilities of my new phone with your help!

There should be some posts in this forum about rooting and stuff, and if not, go check out Motorola Atrix 4G - xda-developers. They are more focused about modding over there.
As to your other questions, the latest update will not affect your ability to root or install ROMs, as some threads you find will point out.

Na, you can still root it pretty easily. Just make sure you read, read and then read some more until you absolutely understand what you're doing. Then read it again. Know what you're getting into and how to fix any problems that come along. These forums (and xda like Bob says) rock for help too. Good luck!

Welcome, gamergrrl! Glad to have you here!

As the others have said, there is alot of info around about rooting Ne adding "ROMs". Check out the rest of our Hacks and Roms sections and check out XDA as posted above.

The current easiest way to root is GingerBreak.

The current most popular ROMs are GingerBlur and GreyBlur and there are themes for those as well.

Just look for those for a good start. Good luck!
