    Goodbye Nokia, Hello Atrix

2 days ago I bought an Atrix 4G from denver craiglist forum for USD 270 and the seller has given the Original box, Motorola named USB, HDMI and Wallchargers. I have verified the original IMEI code against the box and it was matching. The phone has been rooted.

    Here are details:

    Model: MB860
    Android: 2.2.2
    Build number: GingerBlur 4.5

It has got HDMI Mirroring and I could connect HDMI TV. USB Works. Camara & Video works. GPS & WIFI works. When fully charged, battery remains 99%.

I signed up for motoblur accout and linked my facebook, pop mail, google mail.

Anything else should I check in this mobile?

    Regards,

    Gopalakrishnan Subramani

Thanks. I want to have GPS navigation without WIFI and for free. Are there applications available? I look for USA and India.

I downloaded/installed skype. But I don't know how to run them. When click them on app manager, it shows me about the app profile, no clue how to launch it.

    Any help appreciated.

    Krish

Skype currently doesn't work for the Atrix. You have a pre installed app called google navigation.

Sygic has maps that you load on the phone. Know that USA is covered, don't know about India.

Google navigation requires data traffic to work.
Kirsh was looking for something that did not use data. At least that's how I read the post.

Skype doesn't work but we have Qik which is free from the app store. Also Qik was bought by Skype so in essence we do have Skype. There is also Tango that works decent. Is up to you to decide.

My skype works nicely with Atrix. When I turn on the load-speaker, the mic doens'r work for skype. otherewise ok, but voice is not very good..

but you can manage to talk.

Regarding map, I do not want to rely on WIFI network, since I am here on business purpose, not to spend more money on prepaid plans...

Sygic works great.. But it is demo version. it will expire in 4 days.. :-(

Sorry for late reply. I have been out where I could not get internet..

One other choice. Upgrade to Google maps allows you to download the area around you. Don't remember the radius 10 miles maybe?
