Was this a standard reboot or was there modification done prior to rebooting?

What carrier and OS version are you on?

How long have you had the phone?

Have you tried pulling the battery and rebooting? If so and it does the same thing, then pull the battery and leave out for now so it doesn't kill the battery until we figure out which direction to go in. The battery will not charge in the current state.

Which carrier phone and which OS version are you on?

If your carrier/version has an SBF file then you can try to flash that using RSD Lite.

If it just happened without the phone being modded then you might want to look into a warranty repair/exchange instead.

If it was due to modding then let me know the other details and we can hopefully get you on the right path to a fix.

I'll help troubleshoot when you answer the above question, along with:
Have you done any modifications or hacks?

I just fixed my issue by taking out the battery. Plug the phone into the wall charger with the battery still out. Wait for the battery icon to appear in the middle with a question mark in it. put the battery back in with the phone still connected to the charger. Bam....phone started charging.

That's always a good troubleshoot start for when a phone doesn't boot. Its saved me multiple times. Go AC adapters!

    problem fixed

I was having the same issue. I tried pulling battery out then plugging charger into phone and wait for question mark like another poster suggested, however I never saw question mark, I received error message.

I put the battery back into the phone and reconnected the charger. As soon as the Motorola logo started up and I held down volume button. White text appeared above the logo. hit the down button two or three times to scroll through the options. I believe the text read "bypass flash (BP)" appears push the up volume button. a second line of text will appear. hit the up volume button again. Your phone will begin charging.

I can not remember exactly what the text read however (BP) was definately in parentheses and the word bypass was there. My phone is now charging regularly.

    I hope this helps!

    Modem will not power up.

I have a Motorola Droid X2 that a friend was attempting to open the system or mod or something stupid, now it when you power it up it says "Modem unable to power up". Any fix to get it back to factory settings. I am new to this, but was given this phone...

I'm sure there is a fix, but you'll likely get much better help from our DroidX sister site here: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-support/

Our phones are just too different for us to be able to direct you correctly.
