Thanks guys...but no luck. Fastboot erased ok, but booting into android it says 'Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported file system', in the notification area, when I touch that, it asks me if I want to format it...and then simply says "SD card has been removed".

    So close!

    What about this:

    adb shell
    # umount sdcard-ext
    # mke2fs /dev/block/ mmcblk0p18

    Then one compete type
    #reboot

    would that work?

So when it asks you if you want to format it, you do so, and then it gives you SD card has been removed?

I saw that too, but that is specifically for your external sdcard if I am not mistaken. Hence the "-ext" at the end. We don't want to format that.

Oh yeah, good point...so would it work with just 'sdcard' instead od 'sdcard-ext'?

Yeah, that is what it says...and I know there is no confusion with sdcards 'cause I've taken the external one out

I would wait for someone (das8nt) to confirm yes or no. I think he would know, and I have no clue. I don't mess with ADB because I have NO experience with it, and I don't feel confident enough to say go for it.

Sorry, but to be honest, I don't know enough about the linux file system and commands to say for sure. That looks right to me, but that's as far as I can say.

Instead of trying to make the phone format it, have you tried setting the USB connection to mass storage and using Windows explorer to format?

Yeah, it doesn't even recognise it! I have also tried it on OS X and Linux, no dice.

I might just try those commands anyway, it's surely less of a risk that SBFing?

I guess it can't hurt, or it could ruin your phone. I have never done it before.

Otherwise, I guess try flashing the .sbf. There really isn't anything I can find related specifically to your issue. Most people's issues were solved by flashing the PDS file. The only other thing I can think of is become more intimate with Android and learn how ext3/ext4 work.

    Good luck on both fronts!

Don't give up. It took me a week of basically doing the same things over & over before I was able to get my phone back from the abyss. I'm not quite there yet, but I think I'm almost there now. Repetition sometimes works, but I couldn't tell you why. Mine still doesn't recognize internal or external SDs, but I got in through emmc.
