I'm still on stock... though now that my phone has started showing some imperfections () and I'm starting another optimization-frenzy for my laptop and my old desktop with Windows XP and < 1GB RAM... rooting is getting even more tempting by the day...I'm just afraid I'll do something to mess it up. Who knows, with me, I've successfully messed up my MBR (or something that took 3 different Windows Recovery disks to fix) by installing Windows 8 Developer Preview... inside Virtualbox. So with my A2, with which I can't just plug in a thumb drive, boot into linux, and fix everything up, I might wait until I can flash the stock sbf (correct me if I used incorrect syntax?) before I do anything fancy to... my preciousssss. If I can muster up the patience to do so.

I rooted my Atrix 4G pretty early on and stayed rooted the entire time I had it.

I unlocked, rooted and ROMed my phone right after the warranty expired on it.

No kidding! I had to go back because I had this feeling I had already posted in here. Sure enough I had, but I've gone beyond rooting since then and it's been nearly two years, so I'll recap. I rooted pretty early on so I could install the Amazon app store (which I have since lost interest in and haven't used in well over a year) and take screen shots. Then when Motorola reneg'd on pushing the 4.0 update they had previously promised, I decided to unlock the bootloader and flash CM 7.2. I'm now keeping tabs on the ICS/JB kernel project hoping for a break through...even though my Atrix has been sitting in a drawer as a back up only and occasionally brought out to update the apps I have on it from time to time.

I am with Steve on this one. I would have been perfectly content with stock had we gotten ICS. After that incident it was game on. In a way I think it worked out better.

Agreed, from everything I had seen of the stock ICS ROM I was pretty excited for the update.... Then......! Bastards!

1st post here, form 10 year at xda.... so here goes....

2 months and Not rooted but my fingers are itching fiercely tho.... All I need is a Bell 2.3.6 Rom (link??,) for backup reinstall, so I can fire all that b l o a t e that keeps running no matter if I use the "stuff" or not.

A real pain in the cpu, if you know what I mean.
