Should've waited, man. Google I/O is soon and new Nexus only a little while away.

And my personal opinion is that the screen and camera (sensor) on the ION is waaay better than the GS3.

    Done with this.

Well soon I will be in the market for a new phone...

I will wait for I/O and those awaited Nexus... but if nothing impresses me I guess I will wait for the almost-sure at&t version of the Padfone...

    My needs are:

    - Netbook like device or capability as a secondary seudo-laptop
    - Mid-range phone (2012 standards) with better specs than my current phone (Atrix 4G)
    - microSD slot (since the cellphone network really SUCKS in my country, so I want nothing to do with Cloud services yet... and I Love having full length movies in my pocket)

So far the only options that fit the above are

    - Motorola Razr (preferably Maxx) in a GSM form???
    - Asus Padfone with US bands

While either phone seems to be a good option, the Lapdock accessory is going to have an ICS feel to it, but without a touch screen, it sounds crippled to me.

I have no intentions to steal this thread, but since the OP already made up his mind, I thought about being Green and Recycle this thread...

I will appreciate anyone who have opinions, comments and experience that can guide me towards a new Smartbook.

Honestly? It was a failed attempt at being funny, along the "Went to a fight and a hockey game broke out" vein.

The Ion was on my radar for awhile, but then I bought a Sony a57 camera and the need for a phone with a great camera went down. The camera on the Ion was the main attraction for me. My new dslr took care of that for me and so I went back to the drawing board and chose more power and I have to say, having a removable battery is a huge plus as if I lock the phone up, I can pull the battery and get a reset on the phone quickly. I didnt like the Gs3 at first, but the more I looked at it and the more I read, it became a better option for me.

That's how I felt about my Atrix 4G, but new rom = new phone
With the rom and other mods, it's faster than the Atrix 2.

My comment was also not serious at all.. anyway...

A good camera is not my concern, since most of my pictures will be seen in the phone screen anyway... some will get uploaded to Plus or FB.

But, what I was wondering is...

Are we ready to have a great smartphone AND also a decent netbook experience?

The Atrix paved the way and it thrilled me, but the price for the lapdock was a letdown for me and I passed it (went for the cheaper HD dock)

Now that my Atrix is acting funny, I am looking for that promised experience one more time... and I think ASUS has stepped up and the touch screen of the dock is key.

    What do you think?

Moto Razr + Lapdock VS Asus Padfone + Tablet Station + Keyboard dock
