Yes, I bought a 3500mAh battery & cycle charged it for 4 days, that one got me 8 hours instead of 7 from the standard 1880mAh battery. I have wiped it several times so far.
I'm going to try & Root it & go over to GB & see if that helps.
Bought a new Atrix running standard Froyo in June 2011
Apart from the battery performance, Atrix ROCKS man!

GB is much better with battery use than Froyo.

For me it does at least. obviously something with bonky somewhere though or it wouldn't be plaguing so many. i was checking the motorola members help forums and they basically say the same thing about resetting the phone or doing a battery cycle..

From what I've read, anytime you do a ROM change (i.e. Froyo to GB, or a custom ROM), the battery will go wonkers for awhile until it's cycled. Not sure why (and I may be completely wrong on this, as well).

Full cycle, meaning completely drain the battery and recharge.... right? How do you calibrate the battery?

Carl is right. This happens because a new battery property file is created and it assumes that it is at a full charge. So say you are 60% charged, install a ROM, now you are somewhere near 100% charge but you don't have all the juices so it dies fast.

Cycling by draining may help...but if you root and use an app like battery calibration to delete this property file when on a full charge. The file will be recreated with accurate stats.

I have much experience with unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs on the original ATRIX. I will do my best to hold your hand through any problem, small or large, on any phone. Please open up a thread in the help section (or Rescue Squad section if your phone is in dire need) or PM me. I don't bite

Are you running any position based widgets? I know when I have any of the weather widgets running based off my position they almost always suck my battery dead in record time. I've tried two and still haven't found one that doesn't suck my battery down.

Full cycle would be run your battery till the phone dies then charge it. Alot of NiCad batteries used to be horrible about this and needed tio be discharged continuously. The newer lithium batteries give you 100% performance then just die like a bullet to the brain. Best way to calibrate it is either reinstall a ROM with 100% battery or drain it till it dies meaning the phone dies.

That could be my issue. I did a system restore again yesterday & am going to try 1 app per day till I find the culpret!
